ABOUT CHRIS GIBBONS
With a background in business and management, Chris is one of South Africa's best-known broadcasters.
Currently, he anchors The Mid Day Report which is simulcast on Talk Radio 702 and 567 Cape Talk. He also edits the magazine, Directorship, on behalf of the SA Institute of Directors.
With over 30 years experience in South African radio, TV and print, Chris has interviewed all the key players on the local stage many times; they include Nelson Mandela, FW de Klerk, Desmond Tutu, Thabo Mbeki, Trevor Manuel, Tito Mboweni, Helens Suzman and Zille, Alan Boesak and Julius Malema. Further afield he has also interviewed Margaret Thatcher and Al Gore.
As a businessman, Chris was Group MD of South Africa's largest illustrated publishing house and also reached the board of the country's most successful radio group. With a partner, Chris has run a magazine publishing company and with his wife, launched a boutique guesthouse in the Western Cape.
With an MA from Cambridge in England, Chris also holds an MBA from Henley, one of the UK's leading business schools. He consults from time to time on marketing, public relations and media strategy.
